How to enable Mobile hotspot power saving in Windows 11
As mentioned above, users can turn on Mobile hotspots on Windows devices that have two or more network adapters. In a remote location, a Windows device with a cellular adapter can share its cellular network internet with other devices over Wi-Fi. When you turn on a Mobile hotspot, you may also want to use its power-saving feature to automatically turn off the hotspot after 5 minutes when no devices are connected. Doing this will save battery and power usage on the Windows device. Below is how to turn it on. Windows 11 has a centralized location for the majority of its settings. From system configurations to creating new users and updating Windows, all can be done from the System Settings pane. To get to System Settings, you can use the Windows key + I shortcut or click on Start ==> Settings as shown in the image below: Alternatively, you can use the search box on the taskbar and search for Settings. Then select to open it. Windows Settings pane should look similar to the image below. In Windows Settings, click Network & internet, and select the Mobile hotspot tile on the right pane as shown in the image below. On the Mobile hotspot settings pane, toggle the Power saving button to the On position to enable the power saving feature. You can exit the Settings app after that.
How to disable Mobile hotspot power saving feature in Windows 11
The Mobile hotspot power saving feature will automatically turn off the hotspot after 5 minutes when no devices are connected to save power. If this is not what you want, you can turn it off by reversing the steps above and going to the Start menu ==> Settings ==> Network & internet ==> Mobile hotspot, then toggle the Power saving button to the Off position to disable.
